On Sunday, 26 November 2017, the Ministry of Civil Defence & Emergency Management (MCDEM) issued a test alert on the new Emergency Mobile Alert system.  WREMO received a number of queries relating to this national test, and here are the answers to the ten most common questions:

Tip: If you didn't get the Emergency Mobile Alert test message then, check with your mobile phone provider, or handset manufacturer, to see if it's possible to either update the software or change settings to enable Emergency Mobile Alerting.

You can set up alternate notification channels like the Red Cross Hazards App as another means of receiving potentially life-saving alerts in emergency situations.
